Jakarta is the capital and largest city of Indonesia, and the most populous city in Southeast Asia with a population of 10 million. The Greater Jakarta area, which includes surrounding cities and towns, is home to more than 30 million people, making it the second-largest metropolitan area in the world and the economic center of Indonesia.
In 2014, Jakarta launched the blueprint for a smart city, moving towards a low-carbon, intelligent modern city. Energy-saving and carbon-reducing LED street lights with smart lighting system are positioned as the primary infrastructure for urban transformation, which can not only reduce carbon emissions and save a lot of electricity bills for the city government, but also let local residents enjoy a brighter and safer environment, and furthermore it can connect the city's neural network.
Cooperating with our partner Panasonic, the street lighting control system, smart city devices, engineering management, and maintenance management were integrated into one platform. With energy efficiency devices, the street lights could be controlled by different times and areas according to the needs of pedestrians and vehicles on the road.
Through the remote monitoring, maintenance management, and lighting control functions of the SCCS platform, saved at least 48% of the electricity compared to the traditional high-pressure sodium lamps. The platform can also monitor the operating status of the street lamps. The alarm notification can be dispatched immediately to the city worker to save not only electricity bills but also a lot of petrol and maintenance manpower.
